As the world is watching Putin send 150,000 Russian troops to invade a country with 450,000 soldiers and 45 million people to restore his autocratic rule over an evolving democratic state, I listen to Donald Trump. His political goons praise Putin as a savvy genius with the strength of right on Putin's side.
Now reporting all over Russian-controlled state media, the videos of Trump, his goons, and Tucker Carlson on Fox News are symbols of political propaganda praising Putin and strengthening his warmongering hold over the Russian people.
Policy debates over America's role in foreign policy are necessary and welcome. What is not debatable is the moral right of a strongman thug, Putin, who is threatening to engage in a military campaign that will rewrite the border of a sovereign nation, potentially killing millions of people in the process. As the body bags are counted, let's not forget the praise heaped on Putin by the wing of the Republican Party that takes the knee to authoritarian despots.
In a court filing under oath, Tucker Carlson declared himself an entertainer, not a news reporter. I take him at his word, but his type of entertainment is detrimental to our body politic. Suppose you get your news from the Fox Entertainment channel. In that case, you are brought into their hype and are an idiot.
As for Donald Trump and his Republican Party, we need to send these grifters to the dustbin of American history.
I am a retrired MSG from US Army. I am willing to stand next to the Ukraine to fight this injustice. Give me the chance. I may not be able to speak the language but will fight for their cause. Without fear and for them.
